Allan Murray taught History at St Andrew’s International School from 1971 to 2013. His sense of care, fairness and his promotion of critical thinking are remembered by all who met him. His passionate leadership of Lucayan House and insistence on high expectations will never be forgotten.
In light of his commitment to students, to learning and his loyalty to our school, we are pleased to announce the creation of an endowment in Allan Murray’s name to support scholarships at St Andrew’s. The endowment has already funded two new scholarship places; with growth and further donations, we hope it will support more students in the future.
This fund is a fitting memory to Allan Murray’s passion for education and dedication to young people. It will create new opportunities for excellence at St Andrew’s as our “Allan Murray Scholars” honour his legacy.
As a school community, we have made it a practice to open our doors to Bahamian students who would not normally be able to experience a St Andrew’s education. This programme of support will be a perpetual and self-sustaining strength of our school. With your help we hope to grow the fund which will allow more young Bahamians the opportunity to thrive through Ethics and Excellence.
Please consider making a donation to the Allan Murray Fund for Scholarships. We appreciate whatever amount you can give as every dollar counts.

Why give? Each year, St Andrews raises money that impacts the lives of all students. Our annual fundraising is an essential part of the school’s annual operating budget, filling the gap not covered by tuition and fees.
