Mr. Robert Stitch joined the St. Andrew's community in August 2014. He brings with him a wealth of experience in both education and business. Mr. Stitch has worked for over twenty five years in five different schools His original teaching experience was in his home country, England. However from 1985 -91 Mr. Stitch worked at Queen’s College here in Nassau. During the last fifteen years Mr. Stitch has been a Senior Administrator at West Island School in Hong Kong. Mr. Stitch also spent four years helping to develop the family business in Exuma.
During his teaching career, Mr. Stitch has held a number of positions of responsibility. These include Head of Department, Head of Faculty, Deputy and Vice Principal. He has also worked closely with the IB in developing curriculum and advising schools on accreditation. Mr. Stitch is very excited to return to The Bahamas after so many years away.
Mr. Stitch is a historian by trade. This remains one of his passions and this year he is enjoying teaching Year 8 SAS student’s history. He is also a very keen sportsman and still cycles, runs and swims on a regular basis. Mr. Stitch is married to Carla and they have two grown up children, Anastasia and Sebastian. Carla is a Bahamian who originates from Nassau. Both Ana and Seb were born in The Bahamas and love to return regularly for holidays.
